Staff Profile

Dr Frederick Chan

MBBS FRACGP

Dr Frederick Chan graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and in 2009 became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. After completing the initial medical education at the Austin hospital, to further his medical training he has since worked across Australia, gaining experience through working at a wide breath of different subspecialties in hospitals and private general practices.  Of all the different places, he especially enjoyed the time he spent in rural Australia, of which he perform the combined roles of a general practitioner and an emergency department doctor regularly, in typical rural general practice setting. After some years of work travelling, in 2008, he moved back to Victoria, settled down and subsequently set up Humankind Medical. Dr Chan is a provider of shared maternity care with the Mercy and the Royal Women's Hospital. Outside of the clinic, Dr Chan also provides aged care and nursing home visits to his patients, and mostly for nostalgia, he would part time at Emergency departments as a locum.
